A Case Report of Atopic Dermatitis treated by Hoiyeok-tang based on Shanghanlun Provisions

Abstract
|
|
|
Objective : This case report presents the effect of Hoiyeok-tang on atopic dermatitis. A patient was diagnosed with Lesser Yin disease based on Shanghanlun provisions.
Methods : According to the disease pattern identification diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions (DPIDS), we diagnosed the patient with Lesser Yin disease. The patient was treated with Hoiyeok-tang for 87 days. The changes in symptoms were estimated by the SCORAD index.
Results : After treatment, the SCORAD Index improved from 57.3 to 33.5. The patient also body weight from 89.1 kg to 76.5 kg.
Conclusions : This case study shows the effectiveness of Hoiyeok-tang on atopic Dermatitis according to DPIDS.
